Having a destination wedding is the hottest thing since honeymoons, so if you are thinking about having one, I've got some great advice for you! For starters, you're probably asking 'what on earth is a destination wedding?' What is a Destination Wedding? Well, a destination wedding is NOT in your back yard. Or your local church. Or even your home town! A destination wedding is one that, literally, you have to travel to get to - and there are some great reasons to have one, and great choices of destinations, too! WHERE TO GO A destination wedding doesn't include guests (except, perhaps, for your two witnesses, but even those can be found at your destination if you don't have a preference!), so many couples are deciding to combine their wedding and their honeymoon in exotic locations that they couldn't otherwise afford - unless they've just saved $20,000 or much more by NOT having a large local wedding! So the sky's the limit in regard to where you can go for your destination wedding - it totally depends on your dream vacation ideas, and your budget, but here are the six most popular destination wedding locations: - The nearest cruise ship. ;-) Where IT'S going is a secondary consideration, but lots of folks are setting it up so that they can have their wedding ceremony while on the cruise of a lifetime.
- The Caribbean. Even if you don't use a cruise ship to get there, there are many fabulous Caribbean locations that are perfect for a destination wedding.
- Las Vegas. If getting married isn't the only kind of gambling you like to indulge in, then Las Vegas is a great place for a destination wedding.
- Mexico. If you like the idea of a beach wedding, there are dozens of great possibilities in Mexico for the destination wedding of your dreams.
- Canada. If you don't want to go too far but always wanted to visit Canada, the west coast in particular has some great places for a destination wedding - and you can combine it with an eco-adventure holiday!
- European Castles. These can be especially romantic for your destination wedding.
If you think a destination wedding is in your future, talk it over with each other, and then check in with your closest travel agent to figure out the details - and have fun!
